About the Friends
The Friends of Chevalier Auditorium and Gene Mack
Gymnasium, Inc. was incorporated in July 1993 to foster
provide community support and be an advocate for
the two institutions by promoting cultural, theatrical,
civic and youth programs in the historic facility.
Over the years, through fund-raising efforts and
hands-on volunteering, the Friends have performed or
paid for physical improvements to the facilities;
sponsored free community concerts and other fund-raising
events at the theatre; and worked with the Mayor and
City Council for five years to bring the youth center to
fruition in 2001.
To date, the Friends have raised more than $150,000 in
support of Chevalier Auditorium and the Gene Mack
Clubhouse.
Membership
Membership in the Friends is open to any and all
individuals, businesses or organizations upon payment of
annual dues, which are $15 per individual member, $12
senior/student, $25 family/couple and $40
business/organization.

Meetings
Unless otherwise announced, Board meetings and
Membership meetings are generally held at 7 p.m. on the
third Thursday of alternating months at the
Superintendent’s conference room at Medford High School.
The Annual Meeting is held in October or November. Refer
to Friends Events
for schedule.
